Mars Coat King Stripping Combs is an essential tool for stripping and detangling coats as well as breaking up mats in one easy step. This premium quality stripping comb features sharp, stainless steel teeth twice as wide as Mars Coat King's standard combs and a durable, contoured wooden handle that provides a comfortable grip. Works in all different types of fur pet coats, regardless of the dog's breed, size, or age.

The Mars Coat King Stripping Comb is the perfect tool for breaking up matted fur in a short amount of time. The stainless steel teeth easily remove loose, shedding hair from thick undercoats without painfully pulling or damaging your dog's sensitive. Unlike clipping which can leave a dog looking pitifully shorn, this comb only removes the dead hair from the coat which potentially cuts grooming time in half or quicker.

 

How To Pick the Right Coat King

Some general guidelines in selecting the correct size Mars Coat King:

  • Dog breeds with a very soft coat, the more blades the better.
  • Dog breeds with a long coat, the more blades the better.
  • Dog breeds with a very short coat, the more blades the better.
  • Dog breeds with a matted coat, start with a Coat-King with less blades and finish with one that has more blades.
  • Dog breeds with coarse or wiry hair, use a coarse Coat-King with less blades.


When deciding if you would like to purchase an Original Coat King or the Double Wide Coat King, please remember that they have the same function, they are just wider. If you have a large dog, it may be faster to groom with the Double-Wide.  Please see the table below for the equivalent spacing between the Original and the Double Wide: 

  • Original 6-Blade has the same spacing as the Double-Wide 12-Blade
  • Original 10-Blade has the same spacing as the Double-Wide 18-Blade
  • Original 12-Blade has the same spacing as the Double-Wide 23-Blade
  • Original 20-Blade has the same spacing as the Double-Wide 30-Blade
